With 480 attendees in only our second year of existence, TEDx Grandview Ave made a large and loud splash within the Pittsburgh community. Held at the New Hazlett Theatre in the heart of the North Shore, our “Dare to Create” event hosted 10 passionate speakers from a variety of backgrounds who each shared the same desire and drive to think outside of the box. Topics discussed throughout the day included “Social capital and the power of relationships” by Dr. Al Condeluci, CEO of the Community Living and Support Services (CLASS); “Why poverty has nothing to do with money” by Ian Rosenberger, founder of Thread; and “How to create your owner’s manual for a happy life” by Britt Reints, author and Happiness Advocate.
