    Hi Chris,

My name is Adam Palmer. I have always wanted to speak at a TED or TEDx event, but didn’t know how to go about doing it. I am a paramedic with the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. Lately, our service, along with the rest of the country, have encountered many cases that involve opioid abuse. A lot of it is heroin. Although every unit in the city runs these overdose calls, I am assigned to one that runs a majority of them, solely because our location is in the direct area where the city is having some of the biggest issues with Heroin and other opiates. Our bureau has developed a working group to look at and improve our care on these types of calls. I am fortunate enough to be a member of this group. The opioid crisis is something that I take personally. I have the privilege of getting to know the people who are addicted. Many of my co-workers get burned out because we run so many of them. I find that the best way for me to not get burned out is by talking to them; especially about how they got addicted and the life they live. I’ve learned a lot, to say the least. I’d love to share this story and the things I’ve learned while being on the “front line” if this ordeal. Please let me know if there’s any way to present or talk further about it. Thanks for taking the time to read this novel!

I’m nominating Bernard Charles for the Tedx stage. His topics on colour and healing are a powerful combination and have impacted people globally. A published author, Bernard’s personality is captivating and inspirational and would be well received at TedX

I am nominating Fred Hodges for TEDxPittsburgh. He is so lively and informative when he speaks. He makes it hard to not pay attention and feel what he is presenting about. He is extremely educated and humble, which makes him such a stand-out presenter/motivational speaker in the Pittsburgh area! He is a great candidate for TEDxPittsburgh!

Fred Hodges is the most amazing man I know. He has arose from such adversities and came along way to the successful man he is today. His story is inspiring to everyone he tells it to. He has the power to move an audience and evoke any emotion.
